shared-workflows v0.20.0: Dashboard Queueing and Storage Changes
open-telemetry/shared-workflows published v0.20.0 on October 13, 2026. It is not a prerelease. The release is mostly about the pull request dashboard: cleaner separation between live refreshes and maintenance, isolated Git checkouts, and a new snapshot-only storage mode.
The full release notes and assets are on the GitHub release page.
Dashboard refreshes and maintenance are now separate
The dashboard used to mix live refresh work with maintenance work. Pull request #453 splits these so a refresh run cannot be delayed by maintenance jobs. Related to this, pull request #454 isolates Git checkouts for queue-owned dashboard processors, so processors no longer share working directories.
Pull request #438 removes the dashboard code_ref compatibility path after a promotion. Once a component is promoted, the old compatibility lookup is gone.
Storage and coverage changes
Pull request #436 adds snapshot-only storage for generated data branches. Generated branches can now hold a snapshot of the data instead of full history, which keeps those branches smaller.
Pull request #458 adds Go repositories to the pull request dashboard. If you maintain a Go project under the OpenTelemetry org, its pull requests now show up on the dashboard.
Smaller fixes
Two other changes round out the release. Pull request #449 promotes the pull request dashboard to v0.19.0. Pull request #452 handles Copilot review quota exhaustion, so the workflow degrades cleanly instead of failing when the quota runs out. Pull request #457 bumps scorecard-action to 2.5.0 and drops a local workaround.
There are no breaking changes or upgrade steps in the notes. Consumers of these shared workflows get the new behavior by referencing the v0.20.0 tag.
